For the 2015 Celebration of our Earth the volunteers at Earth Week Plus Cheboygan have some great adventures planned!
2015 will be the ninth year that pro-earth events have been planned in the Cheboygan area to mark Earth Day, which is April 22. For 2015 this free expo will be on Saturday, April 18th. Volunteers from Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, Indian River, Wolverine and around Cheboygan County have come together to form a team to organize the activities which celebrate Earth and its resources.
“All programs are free,” said Earth Week Plus Chair Judi Chimner. “Participants can learn about raising backyard chickens, don a bee suit and see bees in their hives, attend an authentic Native American sunrise ceremony, learn about organic hide tanning, see sturgeon in their native habitat, hike Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park with a naturalist, learn more about global warming and energy conservation, visit Sundown Alpaca Ranch, and much more.”
