Sturgeon Research Discoveries by Doug Larson, Research Technologist from Michigan State University will present research and findings from the 2017 field season and talk about the future for our Lake Sturgeon. “Lake sturgeon are a native fish to the Great Lakes basin,” said Hatchery Biologist Doug Larson. “It’s a fish that has been here for a very long time and has had to evolve very little. Specifically to the tribe, it is very culturally important and some of the clans are actually named after the lake sturgeon. There are at least 50 sturgeon living in Burt Lake. Come hear more about these amazing fish.
